UNIFORM CARE & WEAR TIPS

Additional Information

  1. NEVER USE BLEACH WHEN WASHING ANY PORTION OF YOUR UNIFORM
  2. NEVER IRON DIRECTLY ON TOP OF THE VELCRO IT WILL MELT. PLACE A TOWEL OVER THE VELCRO.
  3. ALWAYS ENSURE THE IRON IS UNPLUGED AFTER USE.
  4. DO NOT IRON DIRECTLY OVER BUTTONS. USE CARDBOARD PLACED INBETWEEN THE BUTTONS AND FABRIC TO PREVENT UNIFORM DAMAGE.

Patches:

  • Never wash your patches while they are attached. Before wasing remove patches, store patches between two heavy books to assist with keeping them flat.
  • American flag is worn on the top portion of the right arm pocket.
  • The Montana flag is worn on the top portion of the left arm pocket.
  • The BVMP Nametape is worn on the chest velcro over the heart (left side when the blouse is worn).
  • Your last name is worn on the rightside chest velcro (righ side when the blouse is worn)

Beanie Cover:

  • The seam is the back of the beanie. Do not have the seam showing in the front.

The OCP Camouflage Utility Cover:

  • It is called a cover not a cap, hat, lid or anythig else. The OCP cover will be ironed so the sides are flat, standing up and the spaces between each point are straight giving the cover a sharp crisp appearance.
  • The OCP Cover will be worn with the bill facing forward, level on the head, using the two-finger–to-nose method.
  • When storing the OCP Cover, wrap a boot blousing band around the bill (pictured very bottom). This helps the cover retain its shape.

The OCP Camouflage Blouse:

  • Iron the blouse free of any wrinkles. This means the front, arms, back, sides, and collar of the blouse.
  • Iron first, then use starch to help retain ironed shape. Iron, spray on stratch, iron again.
  • Pay carful attention when ironing the arm pockets as not to melt the velcro.
  • Iron the the crease in the arms from the cuff to the collar.

The OCP Camouflage Trousers:

  • Iron the trousers free of any wrinkles. This means the front, legs, back, sides, pockets, and waistband of the trousers.
  • Iron first, then use starch to help retain ironed shape. Iron, spray on stratch, iron again.
  • Pay carful attention when ironing the pockets as not to directly over the buttons.
  • Iron the the crease in the legs from the bootom of the trousers to the first beltloop next to the fly.

Boots:

  • The above video is helpful but remember both legs should be bloused to the same height, and not excessively baggy

The Tan Belt:

  • The belt should be worn in a manner that the end of the belt rests somewhere between the 2nd and 3rd belt loop.
  • If your belt is located between the 1st and 2nd belt loop, your belt is too small - get a bigger belt.
  • If ithe end is located anywhere after the rd belt loop, your belt is too long, cut it and singe the ends so it does not fray or come apart.
